How to Organize Your Fridge Like a Food Scientist

I used to think fridge organization was a personality trait. Either you’re the person with color-coded bins, or you’re me, digging through three half-open jars of salsa to find the butter. Then I started reading a cookbook…

My second attempt at making a sourdough starter... My second attempt at making a sourdough starter....the first one somehow ended in a moldy mess 🥺 I have high hopes for this one as I am trying a different recipe.

To Start:

*50 grams filtered water
*50 grams unbleached AP flour
*Mix together in a glass jar with spatula or wooden chopsticks, cover and let it sit preferably in an area between 70 and 80 degress. It's still quite hot here so I just left it on my counter

At feeding time (every 24 hours):

*Discard 50 grams
*Add back in 50 grams of both AP flour and filtered water
*Stir with a spatula or wooden chopsticks
*Cover with a lid ( I think this might be where I went wrong with the last one since I am at a higher altitude apparently it needs a lid 🤔)
*Let it sit out of the counter till the next feeding

We should start to see bubbles and it rising after feedings between day 6 and 7. So fingers crossed!

I love using my bullet journal as my journal, but I love using my bullet journal as my journal, but I have the most fun at the beginning of each month creating a calendar where I plan activities or ideas I want to do.

I'll fill in the days with things like; go on a bike ride, call a long distance friend, pick up some fresh flowers or learn a new magic trick.

I don't always complete every activity I planned for the month. Sometimes I'll do two in one day and a lot of the time I'll do things on different days.

It's just nice to have a place to look when I want to try something new one day or need a pick me up.

What are some things you want to do this month?

You don’t need a perfect routine.
You don’t need to fix everything at once.

You just need a simple refresh.

A few small shifts that make your days feel easier again.

this is your reminder:

you don’t need to reset your entire life to feel better.

You probably don’t need a stricter routine
or a more disciplined version of yourself.

You might just need a softer approach.

A small refresh.
A little less pressure.
Just a few things that make your days feel easier again.

I wrote a simple April refresh guide to help you do exactly that 🤍
